Covering
an area of 900 sqaure miles, this
most unique and magnificent part
of England is famed for it's lofty
peaks and tranquil lakes, but most
of all for it's oustanding beauty,
which has inspired artists and poets
throughout the ages. There are 16
lakes, the largest of which, Windermere,
is said to be the heart of the Lake
District. Windermere and Bowness
offer an abundance of sporting facilities
including sailing, golf, tennis
and riding.
| There
is a large choice of cafes,
bars and restaurants serving
ethnic to British cooking. |
|
Bowness also has a cinema and night
club for those inclined.
Situated
on the A591, only 2 miles from
the village of Windermere, The
Hill has a host of delights
right on its doorstep, including
the award winning 'Watermill
Inn' serving tempting bar meals
and an abundance of real ales.
