OUR LOCATION
The Hill is less than 2 miles from Windermere, with its beautiful garden, magnificent yew topiary, well-appointed rooms and its convenient location on the A591 between Kendal and Windermere; The Hill provides a perfect central base to explore Windermere and the Central Lakes, with easy access over Kirkstone pass to Ullswater and beyond.
Breakfast
We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so start the day with a breakfast to set you up for the day ahead. Served in the dining room between 8am and 10am.
Guest Lounge
The comfortable furniture offers a great space for relaxing, reading or planning the next day’s activities. There is a bookcase containing a variety of games, books, Lake District travel guides and maps for guest’s use.

Discover the beautiful garden at The Hill - enter through a Victorian decorative metal gateway, stroll through pathways, to find magnificent yew topiary, box hedging, old-fashioned scented roses, herbaceous borders. Sit and relax on the parterre with a book and a drink, or watch the variety of birdlife the garden attracts.
