Covid-19 Update

Our commitment to your safety

We fully understand that we now live in a different world, and our guests will want to know that we are doing everything we can to ensure their safety and hygiene in our home.

We have always considered cleanliness to be one of the most important parts of our business. During the national lockdown, we have worked hard to make sure we have the best products and practices, allowing us to clean, provide a great service and at the same time greatly reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

As a result, we have changed many of our daily practices and services to minimize the risk of contracting and spreading coronavirus. All these rules will be constantly revised and subject to change, in accordance with government advice and “best practices”.

These major changes include: -

The B and B rooms will be left vacant for a period of 72 hours between different guests to limit the potential presence of the virus on the surfaces, and to allow us to intensively clean the rooms. To facilitate this, we are currently only open from Friday night until Monday night. Should any guest require a longer stay please contact us to enquire about availability.

Until the end of the crisis period, we will wear masks in all guest areas, and we will ask our guests to respect social distancing between us. We encourage you to follow the most current government advice about social distancing and other measures aimed at stopping the transmission of covid-19

Track and trace - If the application highlights that you have been in contact with other people, we encourage you to contact us directly so that we can modify your reservation and you must then follow the government guidelines for self-isolation

Breakfast Baskets are prepared here in our own kitchen and only by ourselves. We have no employees or people entering our kitchen from outside. All food suppliers also adhere to strict hygiene rules to reduce the risk of contamination

Breakfast should be ordered the night before and will be delivered outside your room in a wicker basket at the time you request. The picnic style breakfast can be eaten in your room or in our lovely garden if weather conditions are favourable. We ask you to stay alert to other guests and remain socially distant by using different areas of the garden. To help reduce the risk of contamination, we ask that you do not move to a different table after you are seated. Guests must use hand sanitizer before and after eating in the garden.

When you walk in the shared areas of our home where the chances of contact with other guests and ourselves are increased, we ask you to wear a face mask and respect social distancing. We also request that only guests who are sharing a room use the staircase to ascend or descend at any one time. Our guest lounge will not be available.

Check-in and check-out will be done with “social distance” in mind.

Check in: Will be done via a welcome email, electronic registration form, a virtual guest information folder and a keyless smart door lock. The code for the door lock will be individual to each guest and will provide access to the front door and the guest bedroom.

Check out: The payment for your stay will be made remotely, the invoice will be automatically sent by email the day before your departure giving you directions of how to make payment.

Hand cleaning with hand sanitizer when arriving in our home is compulsory. Pure Lakes Hand Sanitizer will be available on the hall table downstairs and on the landing table upstairs. We encourage you to use it when walking through shared areas of our home. Pure Lakes handwash is available in all our en-suites.

During this period of distancing precautions, and in order to respect your personal space we will not perform full room service during your stay. However, we will top up items on the hot drinks welcome tray in your room daily and empty the waste bins. Fresh towels and other supplies will be available on request.

If any of our guests shows non-compliance with our policies and government directives, they will be asked to leave the premises immediately, the full stay will be charged.

If any of our guests shows symptoms of viruses likely to harm other guests and ourselves, they will be asked to leave immediately. Do not forget - you must ensure that your reservation meets current government travel restrictions.

Despite the necessary rules and restrictions, we want to assure you that we will continue to offer you our best service and we will continue to do everything we can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Whilst we cannot do this face to face, we are happy to help with planning your stay and any other queries you may have. We are doing this via WhatsApp or on our mobile phones.

Because government travel rules will be constantly revised, we have introduced much more flexible terms for bookings made only directly with The Hill. This will allow you to modify your reservation up to 48 hours before the arrival date. Reservations made on other booking platforms will be subject to their general conditions.

We thank you for understanding and your cooperation and we look forward to welcoming you to our home.
